The Sino-Southeast Initiative (SSI) is an independent publication focused on China and Southeast Asia. SSI is aimed towards producing high-quality articles, think tank pieces and interviews on current affairs. SSI consists of 5 main sections: Politics, Security, Economy, Business, and Science & Technology. We publish articles regularly and conduct interviews with experts in the field periodically.

SSI is led by young researchers and early-career professionals, all of whom were brought together by a defined interest in issues concerning China and Southeast Asia. Collectively we have experiences at J.P Morgan, Boston Consulting Group, The World Bank, the Central Bank of Malaysia, The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tencent and various other universities and institutions. The Initiative is based at the University of Toronto, but has a team of editors and writers spanning three continents.
