Calleigh Pan
Managing Editor
Calleigh Pan is a research assistant at the China Governance Lab and a compliance director at the G7 Research Group, where she leads compliance analysis on democracy commitments addressing transnational repression. Her broader research interests include authoritarianism, international security, global governance, and the greater China region. She is currently studying at the University of Toronto, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy as a President’s Scholar.
Daniel Chun

Daniel has been researching China-Malaysia diplomatic relations over the last four years, across his political science degrees from Williams College (BA) and the University of Cambridge (MPhil). He has worked briefly in political advisory firms/NGOs across the US, UK, and Malaysia, including the Malaysian central bank.
Kenji Tan
Section Lead, Politics
Kenji is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where he studied Economics, Computer Science, and Statistics. His research interests primarily revolve around the role of ASEAN as a regional institution and its members’ domestic politics.
Alice Quan
Section Lead, Security
Alice Quan is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto currently based at the University of Tokyo for exchange. Majoring in International Relations, her deep interest in human intelligence, espionage, warfare analysis, and security relations drives her academic pursuits.
Jackie Wang
Section Lead, Economy
Jackie Wang is a Toronto-based writer, studying Economics and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. Born in China, Wang has a particular interest in East Asian economic, cultural, and political affairs, with a focus on international trade. Outside of writing, Wang enjoys hiking, reading, and board games.
Paul Meyer
Section Lead, Business
Paul is a foreign policy and international trade professional, currently working as Director – U.S. Trade Policy for the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Berlin on issues of bilateral trade and national and European economic policy. Having lived in China for over eleven years, affairs in the region have always been of close professional interest. Paul graduated from the University of Toronto with a Hons. BA in Public Policy, International Relations and Economics in 2024.
Andy Liao
Section Lead, Science & Technology
Andy is a graduate of the University of Toronto and a researcher of Chinese electric vehicles. He previously consulted for the World Bank on fintech in emerging markets and worked with the IFC analyzing over-indebtedness among women in Sri Lanka. In his free time, Andy enjoys reading and is currently training for a half marathon.
Elisa Zhu
PR & Design Lead
Elisa Zhu is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying Peace, Conflict, & Justice, and History. She is a board member on the Joshua Creek Residents Association and an oral advocate for UofT Moot Court. Passionate about public policy and community engagement, Elisa seeks to contribute to meaningful initiatives that strengthen communities and promote social justice.
Mingjingzi (Luna) Liu
PR & Design Lead
Luna is a History major with minors in East Asian Studies and Human Geography at the University of Toronto. She is a recipient of the Walter and Mary Tuohy Award and the Daisy Ho Contemporary China Fund. In 2025, Liu conducted field research in China as a Digital Museum Research Intern with ALPHA Education, contributing to the Asia Pacific Peace Museum by creating accessible public history resources.
